And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, Exodus 31:3
Tools for Christ invests in the children of our community, through hands on scripture driven activities available for Kindergarten through 5th grade. The children will engage in the study of God’s word followed by hands on woodworking/craft projects. Tools for Christ encourages team work. We work as a team because we learn to Respect, Trust, and Care for each other. It teaches the children that they are all created unique and special. Also, that God has a plan for everyone, and we are all an individual member of the body of Christ each blessed with gifts and talents.
In Tools for Christ, a teammate may be good at math, drawing, planning, or working with tools. The important thing to remember is that we love, respect and encourage each other to make a great team.
Jesus was a carpenter (Mark 6:3), and as a result the work of a carpenter in Bible times has been somewhat idealized. Starting in the book of Genesis we see the story of the first woodworker, Noah, chosen by God to build the ark. There are many lessons in the bible regarding carpentry to be shared about building and transforming lives through this Wednesday night opportunity for the children.
